As all of our regular followers will know, the Trust was recently awarded £1.6M for the Windmill project. We are also very grateful to the Pilgrim Trust, Essex Heritage Trust and the Thaxted Charities, Yardleys and Hunts for their generous financial support. However, this money is allocated for the capital works such as the restoration of the building, the milling machinery and the installation of a new state of the art Museum. The Trust still needs to cover the running costs of the building during the restoration period and for the years beyond.
